What is an Inveris Simulator?
The Inveris Simulator is an advanced training tool that provides virtual simulations (both Augmented Reality AR/VR, Screen based) for firearms training. Formerly known as FATS (Firearms Training Simulator) by its previous manufacturer, the Inveris Simulator has evolved to incorporate enhanced technology, offering realistic, interactive training scenarios. Commonly used by military, law enforcement, and private security, the simulator immerses participants in diverse and challenging environments to practice decision-making, accuracy, and situational awareness. You can find their system in places like the Army’s Training Support Centers at Ft. Leonardwood and around the globe.
The system uses high-resolution video or CGI environments, realistic firearm replicas with simulated recoil, and sound effects to replicate the intensity of real-life situations without the risks associated with live ammunition. Trainers can adjust scenario difficulty, introducing various stressors or changing environmental conditions to challenge trainees’ responses under pressure.
In addition to practical skills, the Inveris Simulator provides detailed feedback on performance metrics, including reaction time, accuracy, and judgment, to aid in skill development. This feedback enables users to refine their abilities, build confidence, and prepare for real-world applications with greater safety awareness and decision-making readiness. The Inveris Simulator supports comprehensive and safe firearms training in highly controlled settings, advancing modern approaches to realistic training.
